The Lawrence County population remains largely of Italian, German, Irish and other European descent, an homage to the people who settled the area in the 1800s. Ninety percent of our population is considered white, sixty percent between the ages of 18 and 65 and the median annual household income is under $45,000. These numbers make Lawrence County a prime location to find manufacturing and industrial employees, a lower cost of living, lower wage rates and lower development costs while still being in close proximity to large metropolitan markets.
